Cavalcade
of Jazz

The Hefflin Legacy Foundation (HLF) is committed to honoring the life and legacy of Leon Hefflin Sr., the visionary producer behind the historic Cavalcade of Jazz—the world’s first annual jazz festival. From 1945 to 1958, the Cavalcade brought together legendary Black performers like Nat King Cole, Louis Armstrong, and many others, creating a space for music, unity, and cultural pride.

Through exhibitions, multimedia presentations, and educational outreach, HLF preserves this rich history while inspiring future generations to follow in Leon Hefflin Sr.’s footsteps as innovators, entrepreneurs, and cultural trailblazers. Our mission is rooted in celebration, education, and remembrance.
